Credit Transferability Horror Stories

Every year students that have graduated from a Wisconsin Technical Colleges decide to further their education by attending a university. They take all the steps necessary from applying for admissions to obtaining the financial aid to having the transcripts from previous schools attended sent to the university. Then they wait to see just what the university is going to accept in credit transfers from the technical college they attended. More often than you would expect, the University of Wisconsin colleges do not accept credits from the Wisconsin Technical Colleges and the students end up having to take course work over again in order to obtain the Bachelors Degree they desire.

On this page you will be reading what we are calling the horrors of credit transferability from former Technical College students as they attempted to move on to the University of Wisconsin system. This are written in their own words, no editing will be done by the WSG. Once you see and read what they have to say, you should be prompted to contact your local representatives about this issue. Only by voicing your displeasure can changes be made. Remember, this affects us all. You are a Technical College student now and someday you may wish to obtain higher education. Do you want to wait until then to find out the education you received doesn't matter to the University system or do you want to see it changed before that time? The choice is yours.
