Welcome - Wisconsin Student Government
Wisconsin Student Government (WSG) is a student-run organization and represents over 406,000 technical college students (one in nine Wisconsin adults) across the state of Wisconsin.
WSG is a coalition of students and student governments that aims to provide a collective voice for all students through advocacy and direct action. WSG participates in the shared governance of the Wisconsin Technical College system, and seeks to advance higher education by empowering current and future students to advocate on their own behalf for the accessibility, affordability, and quality of the Wisconsin Technical College system.
Any technical college student is invited to be active in WSG. Please contact either your local campus or one of the Executive Board members.
Founded on February 6, 1990; Constitution ratified April 27, 1990 when students realized there was a need for a common voice.
Students Sharing Power
Wisconsin Technical Colleges are required by state law to include students in the governing of their institution.
Student Governance Responsiblities
- Actively participate in governance and policy development
- Formulation and review of policies concerning student life, services and interests
- Disbursement of student fees
- Organize and select representatives
